1. Introduction
Welcome to CargoLink Uganda ("CargoLink", "we", "us", or "our"). By accessing or using our platform at cargolink.ug, you agree to be bound by these Terms of Service. If you do not agree with any part of these terms, you may not use our services.
2. Platform Description
CargoLink is a logistics marketplace that connects customers importing goods into Uganda with verified freight agents. We facilitate shipment requests, tracking, escrow payments, and dispute resolution. CargoLink itself is not a freight agent and is not responsible for the physical handling of goods.
3. User Accounts
- You must provide accurate and complete information when creating an account.
- You are responsible for maintaining the confidentiality of your login credentials.
- Accounts are personal and may not be transferred or shared with others.
- You must be at least 18 years old to use CargoLink.
- We reserve the right to suspend or terminate accounts that violate these terms.
4. Escrow Payment System
CargoLink uses an escrow system to protect both customers and agents:
- Funds are held in escrow when a shipment is confirmed.
- Funds are released to the agent only after the customer confirms delivery via OTP.
- Disputed shipments have funds frozen until the dispute is resolved by our admin team.
- CargoLink is not a licensed financial institution. Escrow balances do not earn interest.
5. Shipping & Customs
Customers are responsible for:
- Ensuring goods are legal to import into Uganda under applicable laws.
- Providing accurate declared values for customs purposes.
- Payment of all applicable customs duties, taxes, and levies.
- Obtaining any required import permits or licences.
CargoLink and agents are not liable for delays caused by customs or government authorities.
6. Disputes
Disputes must be raised within 7 days of the delivery date. CargoLink's admin team will review all submitted evidence and make a resolution determination within 10 business days. CargoLink's decision in dispute matters is final.
7. Limitation of Liability
CargoLink's liability is limited to the value of the escrow funds held for the relevant shipment. We are not liable for indirect losses, loss of business, or consequential damages. We do not guarantee specific delivery times.
8. Changes to Terms
We may update these terms from time to time. Continued use of the platform after changes are posted constitutes acceptance of the revised terms.
