• Account information: Full name, email address, phone number, and password (hashed).
• Shipment data: Supplier details, product descriptions, declared values, destination addresses.
• Agent verification data: Government ID, passport, proof of residence, selfie, and guarantor information.
• Payment data: Bank account details or mobile money numbers provided for payouts.
• Usage data: Log files, IP addresses, browser type, and pages visited.

2. How We Use Your Information

• To create and manage your account.
• To process shipments and facilitate payments via escrow.
• To verify agent identities and prevent fraud.
• To send notifications about your shipments and account activity.
• To resolve disputes and provide customer support.
• To improve our platform and services.
• To comply with legal obligations under Ugandan law.

3. Information Sharing

We do not sell your personal information. We may share your data with:

• Shipping agents: Relevant shipment details are shared with the agent handling your cargo.
• Payment processors: Banking and mobile money providers for payout processing.
• Cloud services: Supabase for secure file storage, Neon for database hosting.
• Legal authorities: When required by Ugandan law or court order.

4. Data Security

We implement industry-standard security measures including encrypted passwords, JWT authentication, HTTPS encryption, rate limiting, and input validation. However, no system is completely secure and we cannot guarantee absolute security.

5. Data Retention

We retain your account data for as long as your account is active. Shipment records are kept for 7 years for accounting and legal purposes. You may request deletion of your account, though some records may be retained to comply with legal obligations.

6. Your Rights

You have the right to:

• Access the personal data we hold about you.
• Correct inaccurate or incomplete data.
• Request deletion of your data (subject to legal retention requirements).
• Withdraw consent for optional data processing at any time.

7. Cookies

We use only essential cookies and browser localStorage for authentication (JWT tokens). We do not use advertising or tracking cookies.
